A one-hour flight from Nairobi lands you on the shores of Lake Victoria. Three days of white-sand lake beaches, shoebill storks, tropical gardens and the easy-going charm of Uganda’s garden city.
Entebbe sits on a green peninsula jutting into Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. It is calm, leafy and full of surprises: sandy lake beaches with palm-shaded loungers, the century-old Entebbe Botanical Gardens, papyrus wetlands where the prehistoric-looking shoebill stork hunts, and a wildlife conservation centre caring for rescued animals.
It is the perfect long-weekend escape from Nairobi: fly in on Friday, slow right down, and fly home on Sunday feeling like you had a full holiday.
