Kenya is a year-round destination. The dry seasons January to March and July to October are generally considered the best time for wildlife safaris, with the Great Migration crossing the Mara River between July and September. Here is our favourite Kisumu weekend: on Saturday morning, join the Kisumu – Usoma Bike Tour, a city tour on two wheels that ends on the shores of Lake Victoria, then spend the afternoon at the Impala Sanctuary and watch the sunset over the lake at Dunga Beach. On Sunday, take a day trip to hike the Nyabondo Plateau (God Mesa), or cycle off-road through the Maseno – Holo countryside. If you have an extra day, add a boat trip to Ndere Island.
